Docket is an offline-first quoting and invoicing app for South African artisans, published by Kultivar (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles and where it goes. The short version: your business data lives on your phone, not on our servers.
What Docket stores, and where
Everything you create in Docket — quotes, invoices, clients, catalogue items, expenses, receipts, vehicle logbook trips, job plans, photos and your business profile (including banking details you choose to show on invoices) — is stored only in a local database on your device. We do not run a server, we have no account system, and we cannot see, access or recover your data.
Because of this, backups are your responsibility: Docket can export your data as a backup file which you share or store wherever you choose (email, cloud drive, etc.). Whatever service you send it to is governed by that service’s own privacy policy.
What leaves your device
- Crash reports. If the app crashes or hits an internal error, a diagnostic report is sent to Sentry (sentry.io), our crash-reporting provider. It contains technical information such as the device model, OS version, app version and a stack trace of the error. It is not intended to contain your business data. We use these reports solely to find and fix bugs.
- Text recognition model. Receipt and odometer scanning use Google ML Kit. Recognition runs on your device — your photos are never uploaded. On first installation Google Play services downloads the recognition model to your phone.
- Purchases (Docket Pro). Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. Our billing provider, RevenueCat, receives purchase tokens and an anonymous app-generated identifier to validate your subscription. We never see your card details.
- Things you choose to send. Sharing a PDF on WhatsApp, exporting a backup, sending an accountant pack — these only happen when you tap the button, and the content goes to the app you pick.
We do not collect analytics, we do not show ads, and we do not sell or share any personal information.
Permissions Docket asks for
- Camera / photos — photographing receipts and odometers, and choosing a business logo or vehicle photo. Images stay on your device.
- Notifications — local reminders for invoice due dates, quote expiry and SARS deadlines. These are scheduled on your phone, not from a server.
Your data, your control
Deleting the app deletes all Docket data on the device (except backup files you exported yourself). There is nothing for us to delete on any server. If you sell or replace your phone, use Backup & restore in Settings to move your data.
Children
Docket is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13.
